Continues to Recognize Students for Their Commitment to Healthy Lifestyles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hopkins, MN\u2014The <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Minnesota Twins and the Northern Region of SUPERVALU<\/span><\/strong> will be joining Minnesota D.A.R.E., Inc. in the first of two events celebrating the commitment of students, statewide, to strive to lead safe and healthy lifestyles.<\/p>\n<p>This month began with a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Proclamation from Governor Mark Dayton<\/span><\/strong> proclaiming April 4, 2013 as D.A.R.E. Day in Minnesota (document following).<\/p>\n<p>Participating in our Twins events this year is <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Jennie-O and Cub Foods<\/span><\/strong> who will be joining SUPERVALU in donating the pregame picnic followed by a Twins game <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">for 1400 students<\/span><\/strong> on Sunday, April 14, 2013.\u00a0 The second D.A.R.E.\/Twins event will be on Sunday, April 28, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Throwing out the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">opening pitches at the Twins games<\/span><\/strong> will be the winner of Minnesota D.A.R.E.\u2019s statewide poster contest.\u00a0 For the April 14<sup>th<\/sup> game, the winner is from <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Kasson-Mantorville Middle School<\/span><\/strong> whose D.A.R.E. officer is Jason Peck from the Kasson Police Department.\u00a0 The pitch on April 28<sup>th<\/sup> thrown out by a student from <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">St. Phillips in Bemidji<\/span><\/strong> whose D.A.R.E. officer is Jon Hunt with the Bemidji Police Department.\u00a0 Additional poster contest winners are attached.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">7<sup>th<\/sup> Inning Stretch<\/span><\/strong> for Sunday\u2019s game will be students with the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Coon Rapids D.A.R.E.<\/span><\/strong> program lead by D.A.R.E. Officer Ken Young.<\/p>\n<p>Other D.A.R.E. recognition events going on have been several D.A.R.E. games with the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Minnesota Timberwolves<\/span><\/strong>;\u00a0 (6) <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Minnesota Wild<\/span><\/strong>\/D.A.R.E. games including games on April 21<sup>st<\/sup> and April 23<sup>rd<\/sup>; and an ongoing Family Staycation with <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cambria Suites in Maple Grove<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota D.A.R.E.
