Wednesday, February 24, 2010, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a D.A.R.E. graduation at St. Vincent De Paul School in Brooklyn Park at 11:30 a.m.  Sheriff Rich Stanek will be speaking to the students and parents in attendance about the potential risks and dangers of the misuse and abuse of prescription and over-the-counter drugs.  Sheriff Stanek and Minnesota D.A.R.E. Director Kathi Ackerman will also be announcing their new pilot program utilizing retired D.A.R.E. officers and reserve officers to help with prevention programming.
